Why should you professionally clean your area rugs?
Earlier this week we came across a rug with dark circles. They used their at home carpet cleaner and thought that they could get the spot up on their wool rug. While it seemed like the original spot had come up, the residue from the spotters and machine used left these dark circles over time. Without the ability to properly rinse out a thick wool rug and dry it properly, the person had created larger dark spots on their carpet.
Wool is a fiber that naturally repels water and you must thoroughly immerse the fibers to allow the cleaning solutions to penetrate and also to rinse them afterwards. It’s important to understand which rugs will accept this type of cleaning without issues and which ones need to be treated differently. It is also important to know what type of rug it is to ensure all of these issues are controlled during the entire cleaning process.
We are Master Rug Cleaners and we understand where your rug is made and what types of dyes were used, allowing us to use the proper procedures throughout the cleaning process. When in doubt, it’s always best to leave it to the professionals when it comes to cleaning and spot removal. This rug responded to our cleaning after the customer tried an at home machine, however if she would have kept trying more and more spotters, the results could have been much worse.
